Description
The Virgin Money London Marathon is the world’s greatest big city marathon. Since it was founded in 1981 by Chris Brasher and John Disley the course has changed very little. From three starts in Greenwich and Blackheath, the 26.2-mile course heads west to Tower Bridge before crossing the Thames and heading east to the Isle of Dogs. The final few miles see runners head back towards Westminster, along the Embankment, for a spectacular finish on The Mall.
